We travel to central Turkey to the town of Göreme, visit the Kaymakli underground city, hike through the Ihlara Valley, visit the Selime Monastery, and visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum.

In our video journey, we vist the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapı Palace, the Spice Market, the Grand Bazaar, the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus strait, Taksim Square, the Galata Bridge, the Galata Tower, the underground cistern, Dolmabahçe Palace, the Hippodrome, Istiklal Street and the Prince Islands.

Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen, Mexico is located in the heart of the Riviera Maya. The town offers beautiful beaches and a relaxed atmosphere with a significant Italian and general European influence. Once a small fishing village, the booming town now relies primarily on the tourism of sun worshipers, sea adventurers, backpackers, and luxury resort dwellers.

 

Travel Rat 26:
Chichen Itza
Located in northern part of the Yucatán, Chichen Itza is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Maya, Toltec and Itza civilizations. We visit the Kukulcan Pyramid (El Castillo) and see Chac Mool, visit the Temple of the Warriors with its hundreds of columns, play ball at the Great Ball Court, and stop by the Ossario Pyramid, El Caracol observatory and La Iglesia.

Mérida, Mexico
Mérida is the cultural center of the Yucatan – with nightly music and dace, museums, and art galleries there is always something to do or see. The white limestone present in many old buildings gives Merida its nickname – the white city.

Third Ivan presents:
Soundhouse I - Aborted Children
The opening act for the very first Soundhouse was the musical group Aborted Children, a duo with guitar and drums. The guitarist was gloriously dressed in a twisted costume that made him look like a rasta hippie from hell.

 

Third Ivan presents:
Soundhouse I - Surprise Guest and Morgan's Orange
A performance by The Amazing Inferno, followed by Surprise Guest, featuring Ronn and Kelly Benway along with Stacey "Stinky" Sloate. At the end of the set Stacey and Kelly left the stage, leaving Ronn to perform his solo insanity in the form of his project "Morgan's Orange."

 

Third Ivan presents:
Soundhouse I - Brethren Dementia & The Amazing Inferno
The death metal band Brethren Dementia performs an energetic set and almost brings down the Double Down. Afterwards, the featured performance of the Amazing Inferno delights the audience with his unique style of fire magic.

 

Third Ivan presents:
Soundhouse I - The Disciples
The Disciples mix gothic music with industrial percussion in an amazing performance. The band, lead by Michael Hemby, acoustically transforms the Double Down into a world of gothic madness.

 

Third Ivan presents:
Soundhouse I - Dan Tana & Lower Oakey Street Sextet
The band Dan Tana creates its own brand of energetic music mixed with bouts of temporary insanity. Afterwards, the Lower Oakey Street Sextet closes the first Soundhouse with an ensemble which sounds like a mix between the Club Foot Orchestra and Pink Floyd.
