Trebon is the premier fishpond farming area of central Europe. Founded in the 1100's as a small market settlement, Trebon grew over the centuries as medieval lake-builders turned this marsh area into beautiful lakes and ponds. The lakes were built primarily as fisheries. Perch, pike, trout and carp are raised here. In addition, Trebon is a popular Czech Republic spa town. Since long ago, Trebon has been known for the curative power of its natural peat spas.
